Job summary

Lava Island is seeking a Low Voltage Technician to join the project-based team. You will install and test IP cameras, access control, audio, and structured cabling at new park sites, traveling with the Lead across multiple cities. A valid OSHA 10 and BICSI Installer 1 are preferred; you should be ready for multi-day site stays and heavy lifting.

You’ll learn the trade under a senior Lead, with a real W2 job, home base, and full benefits. Travel, lodging, and overtime are covered.

Qualifications

• One or more years of hands-on experience in low voltage installation or related construction work.
• Basic understanding of structured cabling concepts and installation practices.
• Willingness to learn IP camera, access control, and commercial audio installations.
• Ability to follow detailed technical direction from a senior team member.
• Able and willing to travel heavily with multi-day to multi-week site stays.
• OSHA 10 certification within 30 days of hire; related equipment certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; background check required.
• BICSI Installer 1 certification and bilingual (English/Spanish) are strong pluses.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on role for low voltage scope at every new park opening, alongside the Low Voltage Systems Lead.
• Install, route, terminate, label, and dress structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A and fiber).
• Mount IP cameras, connect and test systems, and support audio/communication installs.
• Install access control hardware, readers, controllers, and related devices.
• Run speaker cable, mount speakers/amplifiers, and support audio system installation.
• Install patch panels, switches, PoE devices, and build cable trays as needed.
• Travel with the Lead to operating Lava Island parks for warranty work and upgrades.
