Job summary

ELDR is seeking a motivated Low Voltage Technician / Field Technician to join our team in the Twin Cities region. This full-time role supports healthcare, senior living, commercial, and other environments, performing installation, testing, and maintenance of door security and related systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with access control, cabling, readers, locks, and associated hardware, with strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with low voltage systems or related field work.
• Familiarity with card readers, electric locks, door contacts, controllers and power supplies.
• Experience with mag locks, electric strikes, delayed egress locks, exit devices or closers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot low voltage door security and access control systems.
• Pull, route, label, terminate, and test low voltage cabling.
• Install and wire card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, controllers, power supplies, relays, and related components.
• Install and support electric locking hardware and related door security devices.
• Test systems, troubleshoot field issues, and document completed work.

ELDR is Hiring: Low Voltage Technician / Field Technician

ELDR is looking for a motivated and dependable Low Voltage Technician / Field Technician to join our growing team.

This is a full-time, field-based position supporting healthcare, senior living, commercial, and other customer environments throughout the Twin Cities / St. Paul, MN area.

ELDR provides technology solutions that help customers improve safety, security, communication, and daily operations. Our work includes access control, door security, wander management, video surveillance, nurse call, network infrastructure, voice systems, and other low voltage technologies.

What you’ll be doing:

• Install, service, and troubleshoot low voltage door security and access control systems


• Pull, route, label, terminate, and test low voltage cabling


• Install and wire card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, controllers, power supplies, relays, and related components


• Install and support electric locking hardware, magnetic locks, delayed egress locks, strikes, and other door security hardware


• Perform basic door hardware adjustments to support proper operation


• Test systems, troubleshoot field issues, and document completed work


• Read and follow floor plans, wiring diagrams, door schedules, and project documentation


• Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, contractors, and internal team members

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with low voltage systems, access control, door security, structured cabling, or related field work


• Familiarity with card readers, electric locks, door contacts, REX devices, controllers, and power supplies


• Door hardware experience with mag locks, electric strikes, delayed egress locks, exit devices, or closers is a plus


• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills


• Ability to work on ladders, above ceilings, in equipment rooms, and in jobsite environments


• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites


• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Low voltage license, Power Limited license, security certifications, networking experience, or door hardware experience are beneficial

Pay Range: $20–$45/hour, based on experience, licensing, and skill level.
