Qualifications

• Working knowledge of structured cabling, voice and data systems, networking fundamentals, CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms; ability to read drawings/diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install and support structured cabling, voice and data systems, audiovisual equipment, paging systems, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage systems.
• Install cabling pathways and supports (conduits, J-hooks, ladder rack, etc.).
• Terminate outlets, patch panels, distribution frames, racks, devices, and field connections per standards.
• Install and trim access-control, surveillance, intrusion, audiovisual, paging devices.
• Perform testing and record results; verify operation before turnover.
• Maintain accurate time records, checklists, labels, and documentation.
• Promote safety and report field conflicts, shortages, or equipment issues.
• Travel to project sites throughout Texas as needed.

About the Position

Binyod LLC is seeking a dependable Low Voltage Technician to install, test, document, and close out commercial low-voltage systems. This position supports Division 27 communications and Division 28 electronic safety and security projects.

The right candidate takes pride in safe, organized workmanship and can follow approved drawings, project requirements, manufacturer instructions, and direction from the Lead Technician or Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Install and support structured cabling, voice and data systems, audiovisual equipment, paging systems, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage systems.
• Install cable, conduit where assigned, J-hooks, basket tray, ladder rack, supports, backboards, service loops, and other pathways.
• Pull, route, dress, bundle, support, and protect copper, fiber, speaker, security, and control cabling.
• Terminate outlets, patch panels, distribution frames, racks, devices, and field connections according to approved standards and pinouts.
• Install and trim access-control, surveillance, intrusion, audiovisual, paging, and related devices.
• Perform continuity, wire-map, certification, functional, and visual testing.
• Record test results and verify that systems and devices operate correctly before turnover.
• Identify and correct workmanship deficiencies within your authority.
• Assist technicians and manufacturers during programming, startup, acceptance testing, and punch-list completion.
• Maintain accurate time records, installation checklists, cable labels, photographs, test results, redline notes, and material records.
• Provide daily progress updates and promptly report field conflicts, shortages, damaged equipment, failed tests, and schedule concerns.
• Protect customer property and maintain a clean, safe, and professional work area.
• Properly use, inspect, secure, and return company tools, ladders, testers, lifts, materials, and vehicles.
• Follow OSHA requirements, project safety plans, PPE rules, ladder procedures, lift procedures, and electrical-safety practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical experience.
• Two or more years of low-voltage installation experience preferred.
• Previous access-control experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of structured cabling, voice and data systems, networking fundamentals, CCTV, access control, intrusion systems, audiovisual systems, cables, and alarms.
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, device details, and technical documentation.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools, cable testers, ladders, lifts, and required PPE.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer and mobile-application skills.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to learn company and manufacturer standards.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
• OSHA, lift, ladder, first-aid, manufacturer, or low-voltage certifications are preferred and may be required for certain assignments.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to work on ladders at heights of up to 30 feet.
• Ability to work in tight spaces, elevated areas, active commercial environments, and changing indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Ability to travel to project sites throughout Texas.
• Availability for occasional on-call, weekend, or out-of-town assignments when scheduled.
