Job summary

LINX, headquartered in Denver, CO, is seeking low voltage technicians to install, terminate, and test structured cabling and network systems. You will work on ISP/OSP projects, build MDF/IDF spaces, and ensure documentation and safety compliance.

The role requires flexibility for second/third shifts, driving, and travel across the state and possibly the USA. Pay ranges for Tech 2 and Tech 3 are listed with benefits including 401K match, health plans, and PTO.

Qualifications

  • Tech 1: able to climb ladders, lift 50 lb, own low voltage tools, valid driver’s license.
  • Tech 2: requires 2+ years of commercial low voltage installation experience.
  • Tech 3: requires 3+ years of commercial low voltage installation experience.
  • Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling for CAT5e/6/6a, fiber, and coax with proper documentation.
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs/IDFs including racks, patch panels, and wire management.
  • Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing per BICSI/NEC.
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication to resolve issues.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and meet project specs; travel within state and USA as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting low voltage cable systems.
  • Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
  • Travel to job sites anywhere within your state, and may also be required to travel within the USA.
Minimum Requirements
  • Tech 1:
    • Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50-pound box or ladder.
    • Must own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches).
    • Able to work 2nd /3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure.
    • Must pass a 7‑year background check, drug screen, and physical.
    • Requires valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance.
    • Commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Tech 2: all above requirements plus a minimum 2 year of commercial low voltage installation experience:
    • Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with limited supervision.
    • Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables proficiently.
    • Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with supervision.
  • Tech 3: all above requirements plus a minimum of 3 years of commercial low voltage installation experience:
    • Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and “work a 90” proficiently with no supervision.
    • Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables with no supervision.
    • Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with no supervision.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred Experience (not Required)
  • BICSI Technician or Installation Certification
  • Powder Actuated Tools Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
  • High School Diploma
Pay Rate
  • Tech 2: $23.00 - $25.00/hour
  • Tech 3: $25.00 - $28.00/hour
