Job summary

Sun Talk Solar is seeking a low voltage technician to join our team in Texas. You will install, terminate, and test structured cabling for CAT5e/6/6a, fiber and coax, documenting work to industry standards.

You will build and maintain MDFs/IDFs, perform cable pulling and testing per BICSI; travel within the state may be required. Excellent communication and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CAT5e/6/6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.
  • Ability to document work to standards and communicate clearly.
  • Willingness to travel across the state.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards.
  • Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting low voltage cable systems.
  • Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions.
  • Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations.
  • Travel to job sites anywhere within your state; may also be required to travel within the USA.
