Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an entry-level to mid-level technician in Columbus, IN to install panels, run low-voltage wiring, and ensure power and safe operation for service teams. You will read wiring diagrams, manage field inventory, and document work performed.

You will collaborate with customers to identify components, perform on-site troubleshooting, and provide system operation training. The role requires willingness to climb ladders, lift equipment, and work with fire/safety systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with commercial low voltage systems (Burglar Alarm, Fire Alarm, Access Controls, CCTV) is preferred.
• Professional should possess basic hand tools; ladders and specialty tools provided by the company.
• Customer-service oriented, communication/leadership skills; able to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Install panels and run cabling per manufacturer specs and code.
• Mount low voltage devices and panels; manage system inventory.
• Read wiring diagrams and blueprints to assure proper installation.
• Perform on-site troubleshooting to complete the job.
• Provide customer with system operation training.
• Maintain organized work truck and inventory for each job.
• Handle emergency calls on fire & security systems; assess and restore operation.
