Job summary

ARK Systems in Washington, DC area is seeking a dedicated Low Voltage Installation Foreman to provide on-site supervision of installation projects and ensure on-schedule completion with quality and customer satisfaction.

You will lay out cabling, terminate devices, install control panels, and coordinate with other trades while mentoring team members; a NICET or similar certification is a plus, and Maryland/Virginia licenses may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates project on site to meet milestones.
  • Lays out cabling routing, support and device locations.
  • Terminates devices and panel wiring.
  • Installation of control panels, raceway and wiring.
  • Completes associated paperwork in a timely, efficient manner per company requirements.
  • Responsible for quality assurance.
  • Daily communication with project manager to resolve problems and discuss job status.
  • Manages materials and equipment on site.
  • Supervises and motivates subordinates and sets pace of job. Builds a team effort.
  • Directs all customer requested changes to the appropriate responsible person.
  • Maintains accurate as-built drawings.
  • Trains subordinates as necessary.
  • Programming of various systems
  • Coordinate with other trades about ensuring fully integrated systems.
  • Attend progress meetings as required
  • Communicates with ARK team members to effectively pursue company goals and criteria of installing systems according to acceptable standards and practices.
  • Communicates with customer concerning the importance, operation and status of their system. Assures customer satisfaction.

Summary

Required Skills/Abilities
  • NICET and factory certifications a plus, but not required.
  • Installation experience and prior construction experience
  • Diagnosis and troubleshooting skills of commercial low voltage systems.
  • Must have a positive and respectful attitude to maintain good working relationships with management staff, employees, vendors and customers.
  • Competent computer skills.
Education and Experience
  • Field electrical and/or electronic practical experience required.
  • Electronic or Electrical technical/ trade school or equivalent supplemented with 3-5 years of related industry experience.
  • Basic computer literacy and system specific training required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to obtain Maryland and possibly Virginia security technician license as required. Sponsored by ARK.
Physical Requirements
  • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs.
  • Must be willing to work at heights.
  • Must be able to operate electrical tools and a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
