Job summary

TJ Consulting Group is seeking a true hands-on Low Voltage Installation Technician for commercial and government environments in Montgomery, AL. You will pull and terminate cables, install cameras and door-access equipment, test systems, and troubleshoot issues, delivering professional finished work.

The ideal candidate works independently or on a team, with strong cabling experience and the ability to read plans, wiring diagrams, and equipment specs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of low-voltage installation experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with structured cabling.
• Experience with Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling and RJ45 termination.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot cabling.
• Pull and route low-voltage cable through ceilings, walls, conduit, trays.
• Install patch panels, network jacks, keystone modules, and related components.
• Mount and connect network gear, racks, and cabinets.
• Test cabling with proper equipment and identify faults.
• Install IP security cameras and surveillance equipment.
• Configure and test NVRs, PoE switches, camera power equipment.
• Troubleshoot camera connectivity and power issues.
• Install and service door access-control systems and readers.
• Test door hardware and access-control operation.
• Perform basic network configuration for IP devices.
• Read and follow floor plans and wiring diagrams.
• Label cables and equipment per project requirements.
• Maintain installation documentation and photography.
