Job summary

Upchurch is seeking a seasoned Low-Voltage Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for BAS, EMS, EPMS, lighting controls, and AV systems. The role involves reviewing drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing labor estimates in collaboration with sales, preconstruction, and vendors.

The position requires 4–7 years of LV estimating experience, proficiency with Accubid/Bluebeam/Excel, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or construction education preferred.
• 4–7 years estimating low-voltage systems or BAS/ICT projects.
• Solid understanding of low-voltage installation practices and components.
• Familiarity with BAS controls, lighting, teledata, and AV fundamentals.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, controls, and low-voltage drawings.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff tools (Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel).
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specs to identify low-voltage scope across BAS, EMS, EPMS, lighting, teledata, and AV.
• Prepare estimates for devices, cabling, panels, racks, and networks.
• Develop labor estimates for install, rough-in, trim-out, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate vendor pricing and scope divisions with trades.
• Identify coordination risks and prepare estimating assumptions and exclusions.
• Support bid reviews and turnover meetings with project teams.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical pricing for LV work.
