Job Description
Job Summary:
As a Low Voltage Electrical Estimator, you will promote new sales by obtaining new clientele and servicing existing clients. This role involves meeting with clients to determine their low voltage needs, including structured cabling systems, audio visual systems, and security systems. You will be responsible for preparing accurate quotes that detail materials and labor, and for maintaining formal verbal and written communication.
Additionally, you will collaborate with ownership, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project costs and mark-ups are calculated accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Review bid documents and perform take-offs of materials and labor required for project completion.
- Monitor Bid Boards (General Contractors, Government, Educational, etc.) for new opportunities and coordinate with leadership on project pursuits.
- Maintain relationships with manufacturer’s reps, supplier reps, and partners to identify new business opportunities.
- Provide accurate estimates for Low Voltage Systems including Network Cabling, Audio Visual, Security, and Sound Systems.
- Follow up with clients on proposals and potential contracts.
- Track sales, outstanding clients, upcoming opportunities, and quotes.
- Collaborate with industry partners, internal teams, and management to identify sales opportunities.
- Work individually and as a team to secure sales.
- Attend weekly meetings with ownership to review projects and strategies.
- Participate in off-site meetings with clients to review bid scope and promote project awards.
- Understand installation standards related to the telecommunications industry.
- Possess technical knowledge of Structured Cabling, CCTV, Audio Visual systems, Access Control, Security, and Intrusion Detection.
- Coordinate with Project Management for scope clarifications and change order pricing.
- Continuously refine estimating processes to better serve clients and the company.
Qualifications
- Develop meaningful client relationships to promote revenue and provide excellent service.
- Excellent communication skills and industry knowledge are essential.
- Ability to accurately estimate low voltage systems including network cabling, audio/visual, security, and sound systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards and their application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Professional and grammatically correct written communication.
- Ability to relate well with customers and team members.
- Skill in managing multiple projects and reporting to owners.
- Maintain industry competency and strong social and communication skills to enhance customer relations.
