Job description

Overview

As a Low Voltage Electrical Estimator, you will be expected to promote new sales by obtaining new clientele and servicing existing clientele. This position requires you to meet with clients to determine their low voltage needs to include structured cabling systems, audio visual systems and security systems. Using this information, an accurate quote will be expected to include a detailed list of materials and labor. Formal verbal and written correspondence will be required.

Additionally, this position will work with ownership, clients and subcontractors to ensure that all project costs and mark-ups are completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Review bid documents and perform take-off of materials and labor required to complete the project competently and accurately.
  • Monitor Bid Boards (General Contractors, Government, Educational, etc.) for new potential opportunities and coordinate with leadership as to which projects to pursue.
  • Maintain relationships with manufacturer’s reps, supplier reps and partners to determine new opportunities to provide company services.
  • Provide accurate and efficient estimates for Low Voltage Systems – Network Cabling, Audio Visual Systems, Security Systems, Sound Systems
  • Maintain contact with Clientele to follow up on proposals and potential contracts.
  • Track Sales and Clients Outstanding / Upcoming Opportunities/ Quotes
  • Meet with industry partners,internal team members and managementto discern sales opportunities
  • Individually and collectively work to secure sales opportunities
  • Meet with Ownership weekly to review projects pursuing and discuss strategies.
  • Attend off-site meetings with clientele to review bid scope and promote award
  • Understanding of installation standards relative to the telecommunications industry
  • Technical understanding of Structured Cabling, CCTV, Audio Visual systems, Access control, Security, and Intrusion Detection.
  • Work closely with Project Management team for scope clarifications and pricing for change order work.
  • Work closely with management in analysis of best practices on behalf of Estimating department and continually refine processes to best serve clientele and the company.
Qualifications
  • Promote revenue by developing meaningful relationships with clientele to provide our services in an easy-going and competent manner.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and have a working knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Must be able to accurately and efficiently estimate low voltage systems –network cabling, audio/visual systems, security and sound systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and how to apply in real work scenarios.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software – Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Written communication must be grammatically correct and professional.
  • Ability to relate to customers and other team members for a positive outcome.
  • Ability to track multiple projects on spreadsheets and report to Owners.
  • Maintain and improve customer relations by displaying industry competency, social skills, and written / verbal communication skills.
