Job summary

Vortex Doors is seeking a Low Voltage Service Technician to install, repair and maintain a range of doors and related hardware on customer sites in Minnesota. You will diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and uphold safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in door service or low voltage electrical experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to read blueprints and use hand/power tools. A valid driver's license and physical ability are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience in commercial door service or related field.
• Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform precise measurements with fractions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders up to 20'.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Door Installation: Install and repair a variety of commercial doors and hardware.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair door-related issues (springs, hinges, locks, electrical components).
• Hardware Installation: Install locks, handles, closers, and access control systems.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure doors meet safety and building code regulations.
• Customer Service: Address client inquiries and explain repair processes.
• Documentation: Maintain records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve door issues and offer cost-effective solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks to meet company standards.
