Job summary

AE Works is seeking a talented Low Voltage Designer to join our electrical and technology engineering team in Pittsburgh, PA. You will design and document low voltage systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, science, and public sector projects, guiding work from concept through construction administration.

You will collaborate with engineers and BIM professionals in a multidisciplinary AEC environment, developing clean, coordinated drawings and ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing low voltage or electrical systems in an AEC environment.
• Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 72, and TIA/BICSI standards.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Develop low voltage design documents (floor plans, riser diagrams, details, schedules, specs) for systems listed.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines to resolve conflicts.
• Prepare equipment schedules, BOMs, and quantity take-offs.
• Support engineers with calculations, code research, and technical specs.
• Participate in design reviews, QA/QC, and client coordination meetings.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support site visits during construction administration.
