Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is accepting applications for Access Control Project Technicians for project work at various retail locations nationwide. We seek self-motivated technicians who can work independently and provide solutions to complete the job.

Responsibilities include installing and testing cabling systems, performing low voltage runs, and ensuring compliance with codes. Travel and customer communication skills are essential; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Field installation experience in low voltage environments.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
  • Experience in alarm and access control environments is a plus.
  • Experience with CCTV and data cabling is a plus.
  • Fiber optics experience, including splicing, is a plus.
  • Installations and on-site/remote escalation support.
  • Excellent customer relationships and communication.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record (no DUI/DWI in last 3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment.
  • Run low voltage and conduit wiring in commercial buildings; drill walls as needed.
  • Complete wiring and installations to meet contractual requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with Installation Team Lead or PM on schedules and deliveries.
  • Test newly installed systems and components for operation.
  • Troubleshoot to ensure systems meet codes and insurance requirements.

Wachter is accepting applications for Access Control Project Technicians for project work at various retail locations across the United States.

We seek self-motivated and reliable technicians for service and special installation projects, who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. We value relationships and invest in our employees.

Requirements
  • Field installation experience in the Low Voltage Industry
  • Available to travel, as needed.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
  • Experience in security environments; Alarm, and Access Control are a plus
  • Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus.
  • Experience with fiber optics & ability to splice is a plus.
  • Perform new installs and provide technical escalation support both on-site at customer locations as well as remotely via the phone and specialized tools.
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation during the training period prior to issuing a company vehicle.
  • Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency.
  • Highly proficient with the use of email, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
Responsibilities
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment.
  • Run low voltage and composite cable in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and completing conduit work, where needed.
  • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete with total customer satisfaction and contractual requirements.
  • Assist and collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely delivery of equipment.
  • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes and legal and/or insurance requirements

$30 - $38 an hour

This is a Prevailing Wage Job.
