Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking Access Control Project Technicians for project work at various retail locations across the United States. Wachter is a family-owned company with a long history in electrical, data, security, and automation services.

We look for self-motivated technicians who can work independently, read blueprints, and complete cabling and installation tasks. Travel is required as needed, and drivers must have reliable transportation during training before a company vehicle is issued.

Qualifications

• Field installation experience in the Low Voltage Industry
• Available to travel as needed
• Experience reading blueprints and site maps
• Experience in security environments; Alarm, and Access Control are a plus
• Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus
• Experience with fiber optics and splicing is a plus
• Perform installs and provide technical escalation support on-site or remotely
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written
• Has PPE and reliable transportation during training prior to vehicle issuance
• Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency; email and spreadsheets

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment
• Run low voltage and composite cable in commercial buildings
• Complete wiring and equipment installations to meet contractual requirements
• Coordinate with Installation Team Lead or Project Manager on schedules and deliveries
• Conduct tests to ensure installations are operational
• Troubleshoot to ensure compliance with codes and insurance requirements

Wachter is accepting applications for Access Control Project Technicians for project work at various retail locations across the United States.

We seek self-motivated and reliable technicians for service and special installation projects, who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. We value relationships and invest in our employees.

Requirements:

• Field installation experience in the Low Voltage Industry
• Available to travel, as needed.
• Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
• Experience in security environments; Alarm, and Access Control are a plus
• Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus.
• Experience with fiber optics & ability to splice is a plus.
• Perform new installs and provide technical escalation support both on-site at customer locations as well as remotely via the phone and specialized tools.
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
• Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation during the training period prior to issuing a company vehicle.
• Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency.
• Highly proficient with the use of email, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.

Responsibilities:

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment.
• Run low voltage and composite cable in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and completing conduit work, where needed.
• Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete with total customer satisfaction and contractual requirements.
• Assist and collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely delivery of equipment.
• Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
• Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes and legal and/or insurance requirements

$30 - $38 an hour
