Job summary

Wachter, Inc. in the United States is accepting applications for Access Control Project Technicians to work on projects at various retail locations nationwide. We seek self-motivated, reliable technicians who can work independently and solve problems on-site.

You will install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling and access control equipment, run low voltage cables, and ensure compliance with codes and contractual requirements. Travel and customer communication are key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Field installation experience in the Low Voltage Industry.
• Available to travel as needed.
• Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
• Experience in security environments; Alarm and Access Control a plus.
• Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling a plus.
• Fiber optics experience and splicing a plus.
• Strong customer relationship and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record in past 3 years.
• Proficiency with computers and mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment.
• Run low voltage and composite cable in commercial buildings.
• Complete wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete with total customer satisfaction and contractual requirements.
• Assist and collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely delivery of equipment.
• Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
• Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes and legal and/or insurance requirements.

We seek self-motivated and reliable technicians for service and special installation projects, who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. We value relationships and invest in our employees.

Requirements

• Field installation experience in the Low Voltage Industry
• Available to travel, as needed.
• Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
• Experience in security environments; Alarm, and Access Control are a plus
• Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling is a plus.
• Experience with fiber optics & ability to splice is a plus.
• Perform new installs and provide technical escalation support both on-site at customer locations as well as remotely via the phone and specialized tools.
• Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
• Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation during the training period prior to issuing a company vehicle.
• Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency.
• Highly proficient with the use of email, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete with total customer satisfaction and contractual requirements.
• Assist and collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely delivery of equipment.
• Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.

$25 - $32 an hour
