Job summary

The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking a part‑time Fireman - Black Seal Low Pressure Preparation instructor for classes taught in Hackensack, New Jersey. The position offers Saturdays, 9:00am to 1:00pm, with additional days possible.

Responsibilities include teaching boiler operations, parts and functions, NJ exam prep, and guiding students through paperwork for the DOL exam. Wages are $75 per teaching hour with paid prep time and in-house training. Bergen County Technical Schools, Hackensack NJ.

Qualifications

• Teaching experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Black Seal/Blue Seal/Third class Engineer license or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach boiler operations concepts to students.
• Teach boiler parts and functions.
• Review terminology for the State exam.
• Provide practice exams for the NJ Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler Operator exam.
• Guide students and assist with DOL exam paperwork.
• Maintain and submit attendance records.
• Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor.
• Participate in professional development activities as available.
