Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks an R&D Engineer 2/3 for the LLRF team within the AOT division. The role covers design, testing, and installation of high-frequency RF systems and digital control hardware for the LANSCE complex, with emphasis on RF controls and collaboration across accelerator systems groups.

Education includes a bachelor’s in engineering (4 years) with 4+ years experience; a master’s (6 years) is preferred for higher scope.

Qualifications

  • Experience in analog, digital or RF PCB design and development.
  • Proficiency in software development for system operation and testing.
  • Experience with the full engineering design cycle including requirements, design, implementation, debugging, testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in design, development, testing and installation of RF control systems.
  • Develop and implement digital control systems using DSP techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians across related groups.
  • Provide technical guidance on RF controls and project execution.
