Job summary

FlexTrade is seeking a mid-level C++ developer to join our team in New York. You will design, build and maintain a critical middle office component, focusing on latency, scale, and resiliency while integrating with counterparties.

You will work in an Agile, collaborative environment with close collaboration to client-facing teams, delivering performant software that sits at the core of FlexTrade's business. A strong background in low-latency C++ and Linux development is required.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of professional C++ software development.
• Experience with low-latency trading workflows.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design principles.
• Proficient in concurrent programming: shared memory, atomics, and lock-free structures.
• Linux C++ development environment experience: vim, gdb, make, valgrind.
• Experience with Linux shell and scripting (bash, python, awk, sed).
• Motivation to understand financial data elements used in trading.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration across time zones.
• Ability to own modules and drive bug fixes and enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Own specific modules; fix bugs and implement enhancements.
