Job summary

Farm Bureau Financial Services seeks an Application Developer to build AI-powered applications, agents, and intelligent automation from our West Des Moines headquarters. You will collaborate with AI Engineering professionals delivering value across financial services, while advancing platform capabilities and modern delivery pipelines.

The role emphasizes continuous learning, practical problem solving, and strong customer-focused communication to translate needs into effective technology

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent, plus 1-5 years relevant experience.
• High competence with at least one widely used programming language.
• Preferred: Experience with enterprise AI platforms.
• Preferred: Experience with modern delivery pipelines and cloud environments.
• Preferred: Experience with Python.
• Must always have a customer service attitude in order to develop strong relationships with internal and external customers.
• Strong leadership skills and initiative to research questions and concerns.
• Strong communication skills in order to interact with customers and explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain AI solutions across low-code platforms, integrated development environments, and modern code-based delivery pipelines.
• Evaluate and document new AI-related technologies and features
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and keep them informed of productivity objectives, goals and concerns.
• Provide ongoing support and resolution of business problems and analyze and correct system failures.
• Continuous learning about rapidly changing technology, and the ability to apply those learnings to make improvements that add value.
