Job summary

The University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for an Assistant Professor/Instructor of Low Brass. This is a nine-month, 100% appointment beginning August 24, 2026, with duties including teaching applied low brass lessons to undergraduate music students and other courses as appropriate.

Required qualifications include a master's degree for the Instructor track or a terminal degree for the Teaching Assistant Professor track, plus a proven performance record on low brass and teaching on

Responsibilities

Teach applied low brass lessons to undergraduate students.
Teach courses in the department curriculum (e.g., jazz ensemble, brass techniques, chamber music).
Actively recruit and retain students for the Department of Music.
Engage in outreach activities to promote the Department of Music within the university and the broader community.
Participate in faculty meetings, committees, academic advising, and department/university service.
