Job summary

Tilcon Connecticut Inc. is seeking a Low Bed CDL Driver to haul construction equipment across CT and New England. The role requires a valid Class A CDL, overweight routing knowledge, and the ability to load/unload heavy equipment safely.

Candidates must be able to work day and night shifts under varying weather and site conditions, with strong communications to dispatch and ground crews. This is a full-time position with comprehensive CRH benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL – Class A) with endorsements.
• Experience moving construction equipment is REQUIRED.
• Knowledge of overweight routing and permits is necessary.
• Ability to load/unload and haul equipment to CT and New England.
• Strong communication with ground crews and dispatch.

Responsibilities

• Move construction equipment safely to destination within CT and New England.
• Safely load and unload equipment from transport vehicle.
• Understand overweight routing and obtain/manage overweight permits.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Maintain compliance with local and federal transportation regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL – Class A) with appropriate endorsements.
• Experience moving construction equipment is REQUIRED.Familiarity with local and federal transportation regulations.
• The job consists of moving construction equipment, including safely loading, unloading and hauling the equipment to its destination throughout CT and New England.
• Must understand overweight routing as most of our loads require overweight permits.
• Must be able to apply for and manage their own permits.
• Knowledge of load securing techniques and weight distribution.
• Possess an understanding of the operation of various pieces of equipment, sufficient to load/unload from the transport vehicle.
• Ability to perform routing vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to perform work in daytime and nighttime conditions
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with ground crews and dispatch.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and construction areas as outlined by OSHA and state agencies. Protective equipment that is required for this position: Hardhat, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, hand protection, safety vest/high visibility clothing for any work in the field.
