Job summary

Envista is seeking an Loupe Assembly Technician to assemble optical loupe components per SOPs and GMP guidelines. You will work on 1st or 2nd shift, follow instructions, perform visual and equipment checks, and document outcomes. Opportunities exist to advance to Technician II, Sr.

Technician, Lead or Supervisor within Envista. Ideal candidates have 1+ year in loupe assembly or related roles, strong attention to detail, and soldering ability.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to solder.
• Excellent manual dexterity and steady hand.
• Strong reading comprehension of English instructions.
• Basic math and computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components of light systems following work instructions and using equipment, fixtures and hand tools.
• Set up equipment per work instructions to ensure quality products.
• Perform quality checks via visual inspection and testing equipment to avoid rework.
• Complete all required documentation per quality policies and procedures.
• Report productivity and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Report damaged material, tooling, and/or equipment for prompt repair or replacement.
• Adhere to GMP, SOPs, and MIs; participate in continuous improvement events (EBS, Kaizens, 5S, Kanban).

Job Description

The Loupe Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling components in a safe manner to produce quality optical loupes. Understanding and following GMP and ISO procedures. Initially starting as a technician, you will have the opportunity to advance to a Technician II, Sr. Technician, Lead or Supervisor. Operating 2 shifts: 1st Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm and 2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, follows work instructions when assembling components of light systems through the utilization of equipment, fixtures, and hand tools.
• Sets up equipment per work instructions to ensure quality products.
• Performs quality checks via visual inspection and testing equipment to avoid rework and scrapping of product/material.
• Completes all required documentation per quality policies and procedures.
• Immediately reports productivity and quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Reports damaged material, tooling, and/or equipment to the appropriate personnel for prompt repair or replacement.
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures including safety and quality.
• Reads, comprehends, and complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs).
• Participates in continuous improvement activities through the Envista Business System (EBS) including Kaizens, 5S events, Standard Work workshops, Kanban, and Kamishibai.

• Assembly Technician O2: Minimum 1 year of experience in 3 of the 5 Loupe Assembly positions.
• Assembly Technician O3: Two or more years’ experience in 5 of the 5 Loupe Assembly positions.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

High school or equivalent preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• High attention to detail and patience required.
• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail required.
• Visual clarity of approximately 20 inches or less is required to perform fine and gross manipulation tasks with fine details required.
• Good hand dexterity to assemble small components with magnifying lenses required.
• Ability to solder required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to read and interpret written instructions in English.
• Basic computer skills and math skills required.
• Familiar with good documentation practices highly preferred.

Target Market Salary Range
