Job summary

Scissors & Scotch in Smyrna, TN is looking for an outgoing, hospitality-driven Host to run the front lounge, check guests in and out, and craft a welcoming vibe that makes every visit feel exclusive.

You’ll serve signature cocktails and drinks, introduce members to our loyalty plans and retail products, and earn based on tips plus commissions. Base pay is $17/hour with growth through reviews and benefits. Full-time schedule with some part-time shifts available, plus PTO and major holidays off.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in hospitality, bartending, or front desk roles.
• Excellent communication and guest liaison skills.
• Able to multitask front desk and bar service.
• Willing to learn drink prep and meet age laws.

Job Type: Full-Time (Part-Time also available)

Compensation: 17.00/hour base + tips + membership commissions (Expected average earnings: $20.00 – $26.00+/hour)

About the Role:

Scissors & Scotch is not your typical salon or barbershop. We combine top-tier men's grooming with the atmosphere of an upscale cocktail lounge.

We are looking for an outgoing, hospitable, and sales-minded Host to be the heartbeat of our shop. You will run the front lounge, craft and serve complimentary cocktails, check guests in and out, and introduce clients to our exclusive membership packages.

Position Responsibilities:

• Own the Front-of-House Vibe: Warmly welcome every guest, manage appointments, handle check-in/out, and process payments smoothly.
• Lounge Hospitality: Prepare and serve signature cocktails, beer, and drinks in our private lounge area.
• Drive Membership & Retail Sales: Introduce clients to Scissors & Scotch membership plans, grooming packages, and retail products to earn direct sales commission.
• Build Relationships: Foster genuine connections with regular clients to build loyalty, drive retention, and create an upscale club atmosphere.
• Maintain Shop Standards: Keep the lounge, reception area, and bar station spotless, organized, and fully stocked.

Preferred Experience:

• 1+ years of experience in hospitality, bartending, high-end retail, or front desk/customer service.
• Engaging, charismatic communicator who naturally connects with people.
• Comfortable with basic bartending/drink preparation (We will teach you if this is a concern; must meet legal age requirements to pour alcohol).
• Motivated by performance incentives and confident pitching memberships and upgrades.
• Reliable, organized, and able to multitask between front desk operations and bar service with ease.
