Job summary

Chamberlain University is seeking a Visiting Professor to engage undergraduate and graduate students across nursing and health professions. Courses meet once or twice weekly for eight weeks, with face-to-face interaction blended with online discussions and assignments.

Ideal candidates bring MSN and DNP or PhD in nursing, active Louisiana RN and APRN licenses, national certification, and at least two years of graduate-level teaching plus clinical nursing practice.

Qualifications

• MSN and DNP or PHD in nursing degree required.
• Must have an active unencumbered Louisiana RN nursing license.
• Must have an active unencumbered Louisiana APRN nursing license.
• National certification through the AANP or ANCC required for AGAC
• Must have reliable transportation with availability and willingness to travel to a variety of clinical practicum sites throughout the region, typically one site visit per 8-Week Session for each designated location, typically during weekday/daytime hours
• A minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably at the graduate level; online teaching experience highly preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing practice in a clinical setting is Required
• Must have required subject matter expertise in the course of instruction.
• Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits across Louisiana locations, 1–2 hours per visit.
• Demonstrate Chamberlain Care through professional behavior and collaboration.
• Meet a diverse student body and adapt to different backgrounds.
• Share professional experience to enrich courses and discuss nursing trends.
• Provide professional development and engage students.
