Job summary

Skier's Marine in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a detail-oriented Boat Detailer / Lot Porter to help our team keep our boats in pristine condition and ready for customers.

You'll clean and detail boats inside and out, wash and wax gelcoat, move boats around the lot, assist with staging and deliveries, and support dealership operations in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Experience detailing boats or similar equipment.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors and around water.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently or with a team.
• Willingness to learn trailer maneuvering and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Detailing duties: Clean and detail boats inside and out, wash, wax, buff, and restore gelcoat surfaces, clean upholstery and compartments, maintain detailing areas, follow safety guidelines.
• Lot porter duties: Move boats and trailers, assist with staging and deliveries, transport boats between departments, load/unload gear, keep lot and docks clean and organized, maintain display presentation, support operations.

Key Responsibilities

Detailing Duties

• Clean and detail new and pre-owned boats inside and out
• Wash, wax, buff, and restore gelcoat surfaces
• Clean upholstery, compartments, carpets, and consoles
• Maintain the cleanliness of the service and detail areas
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain detailing equipment properly

Lot Porter Duties

• Move and position boats and trailers around the lot and showroom
• Assist with boat staging, display setup, and customer deliveries
• Transport boats between departments as needed
• Help load and unload boats, gear, and accessories
• Keep lot, docks, and grounds clean and organized
• Check and maintain signage and display presentation
• Support dealership operations and team members with general tasks and errands

Qualifications

• Prior detailing experience preferred (automotive, marine, or similar)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors and around water
• Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and with a team
• Ability to safely maneuver trailers (or willingness to learn)
• Valid driver's license required
