Job description

Job Summary

Granite Automotive is seeking an experienced and reliable Lot Attendant to join our team in Rapid City, South Dakota. The Lot Attendant will work full-time and is responsible for keeping the lot clean, orderly, and safe while providing exceptional customer service.

Compensation & Benefits

The successful candidate for the Lot Attendant position will receive an hourly wage as well as benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, supplemental AFLAC, 401k with match, and paid time off.

Responsibilities

1. Wash, clean, and dry all new and used vehicles regularly.
2. Start each used vehicle weekly and advise the New/Used Vehicle Manager if a car will not start.
3. Keep used cars properly displayed in a neat, attractive manner.
4. Rotate all vehicle line positions to give an appearance of freshness to inventory.
5. Deliver and pick up vehicles from the bullpen and get “lot ready.”
6. Remove vehicles sold from the line and replace them with new units.
7. Advise New/Used Vehicle Managers of needed mechanical and/or other work.
8. Detail and make ready for delivery according to vehicle delivery policies of all new vehicles sold by the sales department.
9. Fill all newly sold vehicles with gas.
10. Advise Sales Managers of any problems with the sold vehicle as soon as possible.
11. Check-in vehicles off of transport.
12. Put keys out in the am and pick up in the pm.
13. Clean Delivery Bay at the close of business.
14. Clean Golf Carts monthly.
15. Maintain dealership premises including but not limited to weeds, litter, cigarette butts, etc.
16. Shovel all customer and employee areas and apply ice melt during snow season.
17. Must wear proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and follow company safety policies and practices. Immediately report all accidents/vehicle damage to the Vehicle Manager.

Requirements

1. General knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
2. Valid in-state driver’s license and a good driving record.
3. Manual dexterity.
4. Good judgment.
5. Ability to handle machinery safely.
6. Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
7. Must be outgoing and able to give a good impression to the customer.
8. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
