Security Industry Specialists, Inc. is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist in New York, NY to deter theft and perform arrests as necessary. The role reports to the Regional Security Retail Manager and requires undercover surveillance, incident reporting, and potential court testimony.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in loss prevention, proficiency with PC/iOS, and a valid state guard certification. Shifts are Mon-Sun with overtime as needed. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two plus years loss prevention experience.
• Proficient in PC and iOS hardware and software.
• General operating knowledge of retail security camera equipment and CCTV.
• Complete and maintain state guard certification per state law.
• Dependable team player with customer service focus.
• Able to work any shift, Mon-Sun, with overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct undercover surveillance to detect and apprehend shoplifters.
• Recover assets and make safe apprehensions as needed.
• Maintain compliance with laws and company policies on apprehensions, searches, seizure, and evidence preservation.
• Prepare incident reports for theft, recoveries, and related activities.
• Testify in court regarding criminal or civil cases.
• Perform related duties as required.

About the role:The Loss Prevention Specialist provides additional support to the retail operations by deterring theft and performing arrests as necessary. Loss Prevention Specialists ensure that the client, its associates, and customers are provided with a safe and pleasant working and shopping environment.
