PAQ, Inc. is hiring a Loss Prevention Security Specialist (LPSS) to protect assets and support store safety. The role requires vigilance, integrity, and decision-making under pressure in a retail environment.

The Loss Prevention Security Specialist (LPSS) plays a key role in protecting property and financial loss caused by theft; and supports overall store safety and security. This role requires vigilance, integrity, and the ability to make sound decisions to resolve challenging situations. LPSS’ work closely with loss prevention personnel and store leaders to ensure a secure shopping environment through effective loss prevention strategies and practices.
Work Hours: Vary, with availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Environment: While primarily indoors, climate‑controlled, with adequate lighting and ventilation, duties may occasionally require outdoor work in all weather conditions to monitor external incidents, assess security risks, and conduct exterior property checks.
Primary Work Stations: At or near the front doors of the store.
Dress Code: Uniform tops and badge provided by the company. Self‑provided non‑ripped jeans or khaki’s of approved colours (no shorts or cargo pants). Close‑toed shoes with adequate grip and approved colours/styles. A strong focus on maintaining a safe environment for customers, employees, and self. Adherence to health and safety guidelines is paramount, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Exposure: May be exposed to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals at store locations.
Noise Level: Usually low to moderate, with occasional loud periods from customers, store announcements, and equipment.
Interaction: The candidate may encounter a range of situations, including dealing with difficult or confrontational individuals. The candidate must be able to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or potentially volatile situations.
First Aid/CPR trainings/certifications may be provided by the company in addition to potential other resources such as wearable technology, etc.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail and/or security environment.
