Zachry Hotels in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to maintain the safety and security of guests, team members, and property. You will provide a visible security presence, monitor activity, respond to incidents, and enforce hotel policies.

Responsibilities include patrolling the property, monitoring CCTV, handling incidents, and assisting guests and staff with safety concerns. The role supports audits and risk management within a full-service hotel.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Loss Prevention Officeris responsible formaintainingthe safety and security of hotel guests, team members, and property. This role provides a visible security presence, monitors hotel activity, responds to incidents and emergencies, and enforces hotel safety and security policies. The Loss Prevention Officer plays a critical role in protecting assets and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment within a full-service hotel.

WhatYou’llDo

Safety & Security Operations

• Patrol hotel property, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, to ensure safety and security.
• Monitorentrances, exits, and access points to prevent unauthorized entry.
• Enforce hotel safety, security, and loss prevention policies and procedures.
• Maintaina visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unsafe behavior.

Incident Response & Reporting

• Respond promptly to incidents including disturbances, accidents, thefts, and emergencies.
• Provide assistanceduring medical situations, evacuations, and fire alarms.
• Document incidents accurately and prepare detailed reports.
• Preserve evidence and follow proper procedures during investigations.

Guest & Team Member Assistance

• Assistguests and team members in a professional, calm, and courteous manner.
• Address safety or security concerns promptly and elevate issues as needed.
• Support VIP guests,special events, and high-traffic periods.
• Provide directions and basicassistanceasrequested.

Monitoring & Surveillance

• MonitorCCTV systems and security alarms as assigned.
• Conduct routine inspections toidentifyhazards, suspicious activity, or policy violations.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns to theappropriate department.
• Support key control and access log procedures.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Assistwith fire life safety procedures and emergency drills.
• Support audits, inspections, and loss prevention initiatives.
• Maintainconfidentiality of sensitive information.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Participate in training sessions and department meetings.
2. Assistwith crowd control and traffic management during peak periods.
3. Perform other duties as assigned to support hotel operations.
4. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance as an essential function of the job.
5. Assist with Lost & Found procedures.

Required Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Previoussecurity or loss prevention experience preferred.
• Experience in hospitality, hotel, or service-oriented environments preferred.
• Training in emergency response or safety procedures preferred.

• Strong observation, judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to patrol on foot and stand for extended periods.
