Job summary

Kroger is seeking an on-site Greeter/Asset Protection role at 1000 E Northern Lights Blvd, Anchorage, AK 99508. You will greet customers, support protection initiatives, and respond to EAS activations while upholding Kroger's core values of respect, integrity, and safety.

The role emphasizes delivering friendly service, monitoring entry/exit areas, and reporting safety concerns. Flexibility across shifts and adherence to policies are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to protect sensitive information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and situational awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they enter or exit the store and model excellent service.
  • Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner at entry/exit points.
  • Move safely in entry and exit areas of the store.
  • Ask customers to see receipts for non-bagged items and direct to registers when needed.
  • Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems.
  • Assist with deactivation of EAS devices.
  • Answer questions about item locations and store layout.
  • Escalate suspicious activity to district Asset Protection management.
  • Assist with bascarts and Purcheck-related issues.
  • Report safety concerns to a supervisor.
  • Follow corporate policies and company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift.
  • Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job description

Provide customer service by acknowledging customers as they enter and exit the store, answer questions, assist with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices, and monitor the Greeter Kiosk. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Model customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner as they enter and exit the store
  • Maneuver in the store's entry and exit areas
  • Politely ask customers to see their receipt for non-bagged items and direct customers to registers when non-bagged items are observed
  • Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems
  • Assist customers with deactivation of EAS devices
  • Answer customer questions concerning the location of items or sections within the store
  • Direct communication with the district Asset Protection (AP) manager/district AP specialists to report suspicious behavior
  • Assist customers with bascarts that may lock up with Purcheck
  • Report safety concerns to supervisor
  • Comply with corporate policies and promote/follow company initiatives
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications

Minimum

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work within strict time frames/resolute deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and ability to draw conclusions
