Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers is seeking a customer-focused associate to greet shoppers, answer questions, and assist with EAS deactivations. You will monitor entry/exit areas, direct customers to registers, and uphold company values of respect, integrity and safety.

The role supports a fast-paced retail environment, with duties including assisting with bascarts, reporting safety concerns, and following corporate policies. Part-time opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict time frames.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to draw conclusions.
• Desirable: ability to speak a second language.

Job Description

Provide customer service by acknowledging customers as they enter and exit the store, answer questions, assist with deactivation of electronic article surveillance devices, and monitor the Greeter Kiosk. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities

• Model customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Acknowledge customers in a friendly manner as they enter and exit the store
• Maneuver in the store's entry and exit areas
• Politely ask customers to see their receipt for non-bagged items and direct customers to registers when non-bagged items are observed
• Respond to activations of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems
• Assist customers with deactivation of EAS devices
• Answer customer questions concerning the location of items or sections within the store
• Direct communication with the district Asset Protection (AP) manager/district AP specialists to report suspicious behavior
• Assist customers with bascarts that may lock up with Purcheck
• Report safety concerns to supervisor
• Comply with corporate policies and promote/follow company initiatives
• Maintain flexibility to work any shift
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail
