Job summary

M&T Bank in Getzville, New York is seeking a Loss Mitigation Specialist to submit loan modification workups across investor waterfalls and prepare loans for foreclosure mediation hearings. You will collaborate with investors such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and coordinate with title and loss mitigation teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing hardship documents, calculating modification terms, analyzing appraisals and HUD forms, negotiating short sales, and preparing management summaries

Qualifications

• A combined 4 years' higher education and/or experience, including a minimum of 2 years' collections or underwriting experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally over the phone.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Knowledge and understanding of land title.

Responsibilities

• Submit loan modification workups for investor waterfalls and loss mitigation.
• Prepare loans for foreclosure mediation hearings and liaise with investors.
• Review workout packages to determine suitable repayment options.
• Calculate modification terms per investor guidelines and laws.
• Coordinate with Single Point of Contact, title, and Loss Mitigation teams.
• Analyze documents to approve/deny short sales.
• Negotiate short sale settlements with customers, agents, and attorneys.
• Prepare management workout summaries and audit-ready notes.
• Ensure compliance with policies and external regulations.
• Complete ad hoc due diligence loan reviews.
