Job summary

Qualifications

• Combined 5 years of higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ collections or underwriting experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally over the phone.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Knowledge and understanding of land title.

Responsibilities

• Review mortgage loan accounts and determine retention or liquidation options.
• Submit loan modification workups and review appeal requests for denied losses.
• Prepare loans for foreclosure mediation hearings and QC files.
• Liaise with investors such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and M&T Bank for approvals.
• Communicate with HUD regarding loss mitigation requests and extensions.
• Review denied loan appeal requests by checking income and documents.
• Calculate foreclosure costs, loss estimates and payoff totals.
• Review workout packages to determine suitable repayment options.
• Calculate loan modification terms per FHA, M&T policies and laws.
• Review documents to approve/deny short sales and communicate with agents/attorneys.
• Assist with process improvements and maintain audit-ready notes.
• Adhere to compliance/risk controls and internal/external audit points.
