Job summary

BGF Industries, Inc. in Cheraw, SC is seeking a Loom Maintenance Mechanic to repair mechanical malfunctions on looms, start up new creels, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.

You will inspect rapier heads, perform feathered edge checks, enter repair and setup data into the LDMS system, and maintain housekeeping while following all safety rules. This role requires manual dexterity and the ability to work in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Must have been previously qualified as a weaver.
• Must successfully complete requirements for an industrial truck license.
• Must have taken and scored at least in the 50 percentile on the Bennett's Mechanical Comprehension Test.

Responsibilities

• Repairs looms as flagged by weaver or inspector.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs weaver job when required.
• Perform rapier head inspections
• Perform feathered edge checks
• Check and replace rapier cutters as needed
• Enter repair and set-up data into LDMS system
• Responsible for general housekeeping in the assigned area
• Observe all plant and company safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager, Supervisor or Process Engineer.
