Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks an experienced Looker Administrator / BI Platform Engineer to manage enterprise Looker environments, support production operations, and contribute to cloud migration, platform modernization, and data transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Looker, LookML, SQL, GitHub, CI/CD, REST APIs, Azure AD/IAM, GCP, and cloud analytics platforms, and will work across admin, upgrades, monitoring, governance, and API-driven reporting initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with enterprise Looker environments and production support.
• Proficient in LookML, SQL, and data modeling practices.
• Familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD, REST APIs, and cloud IAM.
• Experience with Azure AD/IAM, GCP, and cloud analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

• Administer and provide L3/L4 production support for Looker environments.
• Manage platform upgrades, releases, patches, and deployments.
• Monitor health, availability, usage, concurrency, and performance.
• Troubleshoot Looker, data modeling, connectivity, and SQL issues.
• Support LookML development, code reviews, and deployment workflows.
• Manage GitHub version control and CI/CD processes.
• Manage user provisioning, roles, permissions, groups, and entitlements.
• Support Azure AD/IAM integration and authentication issues.
• Establish platform governance, security standards, and usage guidelines.
• Support Looker REST APIs for admin and query tasks.
• Enable API-driven reporting, automation, and advanced analytics.
• Migrate from customer-hosted to Google-hosted Looker Core and test rollout.
• Develop migration tests, validation, and rollback strategies.
• Support GCP-based analytics environments and cloud modernization.
• Collaborate with Snowflake, Teradata, and other cloud data platforms.
• Validate reporting accuracy and data consistency; optimize queries.
• Create runbooks, SOPs, and technical docs; conduct knowledge transfers.

• Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions and mentor internal engineering teams.
• Support long-term platform ownership and operational process standardization.
