Job summary

GCS Recruitment seeks a Looker Administrator / BI Platform Engineer to support a large-scale BI environment, focusing on Looker platform engineering, production support, access governance, API enablement, and cloud migration.

This role will lead Looker upgrades, support GitHub and LookML workflows, troubleshoot performance issues, and govern entitlement management while mentoring engineers and documenting platform standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on Looker administration experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise BI platforms in production.
• Strong knowledge of LookML, GitHub workflows, and BI platform operations.
• Experience with user provisioning, identity, and entitlement management.
• Familiarity with Azure AD and enterprise identity platforms.
• Experience with Looker APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL, query performance, and data modeling.

• Exposure to Snowflake and Teradata.

Responsibilities

• Provide L3/L4 production support for Looker development and production environments.
• Lead and validate Looker upgrades, releases, and patching.
• Support GitHub and LookML workflows, coordinating between Dev and Prod environments.
• Troubleshoot complex Looker performance, modeling, and query issues.
• Implement scripted user provisioning and entitlement management.
• Troubleshoot Azure AD group synchronization and access issues.
• Establish governance guardrails, standards, and platform documentation.
• Support Looker APIs, including Inline Queries and Admin APIs.
• Analyze performance, concurrency, and platform usage patterns.
• Support API-driven AI use cases, including dynamic SQL generation.
• Assist migration testing from customer-hosted to Google-hosted Looker Core.
• Support cloud migration POCs while minimizing platform risk.
• Validate Teradata-to-Snowflake query behavior through Looker.
• Standardize modeling, query behavior, and performance expectations.
• Develop runbooks, technical docs, and platform best practices.
• Mentor internal engineers and support platform ownership transition.

Looker Administrator / BI Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Looker Administrator / BI Platform Engineer to support a large-scale Business Intelligence environment and help modernize its analytics platform. This role will focus on Looker platform engineering, production support, access governance, API enablement, and cloud migration.

What You'll Do

• Provide L3/L4 production support for Looker Development and Production environments

What We're Looking For
