Job summary

The United States Golf Association (USGA) invites applications for a Long-Term Operations Intern to support the 2027 U.S. Open Championship. Qualifications

• Experience in golf tournament operations is preferred.
• Ability to work long and strenuous hours (40-100+ hour weeks) including holidays and weekends.
• Flexible with an ever-changing environment.
• Able to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and operate tools safely.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist USGA staff with the preparation and set-up of on-site facilities (corporate hospitality, media center, vendor compounds, volunteer village, office trailers).
• Work with staff on inventory and distribution of operational equipment (chairs, drink stands, furniture, office equipment, tables, water coolers, golf carts).
• Take the lead as point person for specific vendors and oversee their progress during facility construction and tear-down.
• Assist vendors and staff with tear-down and clean-up procedures after the Championship.
• Install and remove Championship signage with USGA staff.
• Provide administrative office support and assist other departments as necessary.
