Duties & Responsibilities
  • Instructional Leadership: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to one section each of Biology, Biology-Honors, and Robotics.
  • Hands-On STEM Stewardship: Facilitate safe, rigorous laboratory experiments and interactive engineering projects that spark student curiosity.
  • Digital Integration: Utilize 1:1 technology, lab equipment, and relevant software/tools to enhance student engagement and project-based learning.
  • Student Advocacy: Implement inclusive classroom and lab management that supports diverse learners, including those with IEPs/504s, through differentiated instruction.
  • Professional Collaboration: Actively participate in department meetings, PLCs (Professional Learning Communities), and contribute to a safe, positive BHS school culture.
Qualifications / Recommended Work Traits
  • Proper certification or eligibility certificate to teach Science/STEM fields from the NH Department of Education (or relevant coursework/background in Biology, STEM, or Engineering).
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with major coursework in science, STEM education, or a related field.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with teachers, agency personnel, students, parents, and the public.
  • Knowledge of modern science education techniques, lab safety protocols, and hands-on learning methods.
  • Ability to work with all students, including those who possess educational disabilities.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to students' individual learning styles.

Job Requirements
  • Long Term Substitutes are paid $125.00 per day for the first 9 consecutive days, $259.71 beginning on the 10th day. There are no benefits for this position.
