Job Description

Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School is seeking an educator to work as a long-term substituethird grade teacher beginning on January 4, 2027 and staying for the remainder of the year. Preferred candidates should have strong classroom management. CHRC approval is required and candidates with teaching experience or training are preferred. The candidate will be joining a dynamic and collaborative third grade team.

Desired candidates will:

• Have successful elementary instructional experience
• Createeffective rapport with students
• Effectively plan and implement approved elementary curriculum
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans and instructional materials
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual students
• Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
• Identify student needs and effectively collaborate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with families
