Job summary

WILLIAM MARVIN BASS in Lynchburg, VA, is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher for the third grade to provide continuity when the regular teacher is absent.

• Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting quality student performance in both academic and social behavior based on student's prior knowledge and experience.
• Contribute to and manage an individual program plan for students with special needs.
• Create and maintain a climate of respect and fairness for all students.
• Demonstrate fair and ethical judgments.
• Apply appropriate consequences for inappropriate student behavior.
• Display problem-solving, cooperative negotiating skills, and conflict-resolution strategies.
• Use classroom instruction time appropriately and wisely.

Provide continuity in the classroom instructional program in support of the school division's essential comprehensive educational program by carrying out the daily routine and instructional objectives of professionally certified staff in their absence.
