Job description

MSAD 6 is seeking a dynamic Long Term Substitute 5th Grade Teacher to join the instructional staff at Buxton Center Elementary School in Buxton, Maine. The assignment is expected to begin on Aug 28, 2026, and last until Thanksgiving break. The successful candidate will create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom; motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to ensure that effective learning occurs for each child; and respond to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional programs and student progress.

Applicants for this position must have degree(s) required in major area of study; Maine Department of Education certification with a #020 endorsement; experience related to the instruction of students of similar age and in the subject area(s) to be assigned; demonstrated positive, professional relationships with students and colleagues; and evidence of a strong desire to work with school-age youth.
