Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Keep accurate records of student progress and required reporting.
• Participate in school activities beyond the regular day as needed.
• Communicate progress and needs to students, colleagues, and parents.
• Adhere to Board policies, including substance-free workplace expectations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Building Principal.

Seymour Community Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year.The Long Term Substitute Teacher shall possess a valid DPI Wisconsin Substitute Teaching License or be eligible to earn the appropriate license with a Bachelor's Degree. The Long Term Substitute Teacher will be responsible for teaching middle school students.

Hours/Benefits:

The hours are Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30, on days that students are in session. This position is not eligible for benefits and is a temporary position.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver curriculum based on district frameworks to meet learning objectives, student needs and District procedures.


• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures to maintain discipline in accordance with the rules of the school.


• Maintain an organized classroom that is conducive to student learning.


• Assign, grade, and provide feedback on learning activities in order to support and monitor students’ progress.


• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development and prepare required reports detailing student progress.


• Participate in school activities during and outside of the school day.


• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and students needs in a timely manner.


• Remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with Board policies throughout his/her employment in the District.


• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
