Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support students aged 5–21 with autism and related developmental and behavioral challenges. You will deliver instruction aligned with IEP goals, document progress, and collaborate with families to support student growth in academic, behavioral, and social skills.

You will work within a structured, student-centered environment, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and individualized support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid Pennsylvania Private Academic teaching certification in Special Education or Instructional I/II certification in Special Education
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to inclusive practices and individualized student support
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed

Responsibilities

• Document progress, assessments, and reports accurately and on time
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to support student development
• Maintain classroom structure and implement behavior management strategies

As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher at New Story Schools, you will support students with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning needs by maintaining instructional continuity and promoting growth in academic, behavioral, and social skills. You'll work collaboratively with staff and families to provide consistent, individualized support in a structured, student-centered learning environment.

What You'll Need
