Innovation Academy Charter School seeks a long‑term substitute for a middle school science teacher from the start of the school year through October. Successful candidates will be passionate learners and collaborators committed to the school’s mission and invested in the academic and social‑emotional learning of all students. The school has a close‑knit community of teachers, students, administration, and parents. Teachers serve as advisors to a group of 12‑13 students each year, building strong relationships with students outside of the academic classroom.
IACS serves all students within an academically rigorous and culturally responsive community of learners. Teachers blend Amplify curriculum with teacher‑developed project‑based assessments and engage students in real‑world applications of their learning through a curriculum designed to challenge students to become critical thinkers, collaborative problem‑solvers, and self‑directed learners.
Situated in Tyngsboro, MA, IACS draws a diverse student body from neighboring districts, including Lowell, Dracut, and Chelmsford, as well as Tyngsboro. The community represents 19 languages spoken, 39% students of color, 25% of students on special‑education plans, and a community of students and staff who identify as LGBTQ.
