Qualifications

• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education – preferred.
• Non-Certified Teachers include individuals with an Associate Degree or who have completed 60 credits.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for instructional, curriculum and general duties as indicated by the Principal, Supervisor, and directives of the Superintendent.
• Works cooperatively with colleagues, administrators and parents/guardians.
• Substitute daily for absent professional staff as determined by the Principal/designee.
• Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
• Must possess the ability to adapt to a variety of lesson plans when covering various subjects or grades.
• Provides summary of activities accomplished, lesson plans completed and not completed and any other additional information that the classroom teacher should be aware of.
• Maintains a safe and positive learning environment for all students and reports all student discipline issues to the appropriate authority.
• Adheres to district policies for staff.
• Annually completes the appropriate staff training and Substitute Handbook
• Performs other duties assigned by the Principal or directives of the Superintendent or designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.

Relationship or

Line of Authority:
