About Us

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell (CCSL) is a K-12 public charter school serving about 1,200 students in Lowell, Massachusetts. Our students and families are multilingual and multicultural, and we hold every child to high expectations. Our core values are Respect, Responsibility, Perseverance, and Excellence. In the elementary grades, students live these values through the WOLF framework (Work, Ownership, Learning, Friendship) and our school-wide PBIS program.

The Role

We are looking for a steady, warm, and firm long-term substitute to step into our K-4 Assistant Dean role. You will be a core member of the K-4 Behavior Team, working side by side with administration to keep our hallways, lunchroom, and recess calm, safe, and joyful. You will respond to behavior needs in the moment, build positive relationships with students and families, and help us teach and reinforce expectations instead of only responding to mistakes.

  • Staff in-school suspension and support students in reflecting, repairing, and re-entering class ready to learn
  • Help implement PBIS and restorative practices, including restorative conversations and community-building
  • Serve as a positive mentor and trusted adult for students

  • A genuine commitment to the success of every child, and a belief that behavior is something we teach
  • Patience, composure, and good judgment in high-energy and high-stress moments
  • Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Experience working with elementary-age children in a school, camp, youth program, or similar setting (required)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; paraprofessional, behavior support, or related school experience will be considered in place of a degree
  • Experience with PBIS, restorative practices, or CPI is a plus; we will provide CPI training if needed
  • Fluency in Spanish, Khmer, Portuguese, or another language spoken by our families is a plus
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of a school setting, including being on your feet, supervising outdoors, and, if needed, safely supporting students
Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, on the school calendar, 8:25-4:30. Start date: Nov 23, 2026
