Job summary

Beverly Public School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a long-term substitute covering a leave of absence from November 30, 2026 to March 12, 2027. The teacher will collaborate with content teachers, write IEPs, collect data, and report progress during team meetings.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in appropriate content area
• Appropriate MA DESE Special Education certification is required
• Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required within one year of start date

Responsibilities

• Write IEP goals and objectives, collect and analyze data, and report progress in progress reports and Team Meetings
• Use varied assessment tools for eligibility during initial meetings and reevaluations
• Provide instruction for students with varying disabilities in reading, math and written language
• Collaborate with staff to implement accommodations/modifications across the school setting
• Communicate with parents and outside agency providers in writing and orally
• Deliver direct instruction and prepare lessons reflecting diverse learning styles
• Plan and utilize instructional strategies/equipment aligned to student needs
• Maintain classroom behavior management in line with district/state guidelines
• Collaborate to determine instructional goals and methods per district requirements
• Provide timely lesson plans for substitutes and ongoing assessment of student learning
• Maintain asset-based, growth-oriented mindset toward all students
• Communicate respectfully with families about student progress and language acquisition
• Analyze and use student data to adapt curriculum for diverse learners
