Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland seeks a long-term substitute paraeducator to support students with IEPs. Under the principal's direction, you will assist with instructional activities, personal care, and behavior management, in a variety of settings, including off-site activities as needed.

Experience with education settings, familiarity with Google Workspace and MS Office, and completion of applicable training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Education coursework related to behavior management and instructional strategies recommended.
• ParaPro assessment with qualifying score may be required.
• Experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• Ability to learn and use standard computer tools quickly.

Responsibilities

• Attend to student personal care and medical needs as required.
• Assist students with academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical support.
• Facilitate student mastery of curriculum and alternate standards in various settings.
• Provide instructional and classroom management supports and perform clerical tasks.
• Possibly participate in activities off school grounds as needed.
