Job summary

Science Academies of New York (SANY) Utica Academy of Science Charter School is seeking a Long Term Lead Substitute Teacher for grades K-5. The role focuses on delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a dynamic charter school environment.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree with NY certification preferred and have a strong foundation in pedagogy, data-driven instruction, and classroom management. Prior urban setting experience is a plus, with fingerprint clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum.

SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Charter School's Elementary School is excited to announce openings for a Long Term Lead Substitute Teacher (Grades k-5).

As a result, we are looking for dynamic and creative Teachers. We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply!

Compensation:

New York State Certification preferred.

We need Teachers who will:

• Provide engaging lesson plans the conform to the charter's curriculum
• Collaborate with staff to determine charter requirement for the instructional goals, objectives and methods
• Be ready to prepare students for the standardized tests relevant to the content area
• Have excellent content knowledge and pedagogy
• Welcome the use of analytics and data to help drive instruction and promote learning
• Appreciate regular feedback, accountability and the rewards that come with doing a great job serving our students & communities
• Have great classroom management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Certification preferred
• Experience with diverse population of students or in an urban setting a plus
• Prior teaching experience preferred and novice teachers encouraged to apply!
• Fingerprint clearance through NYS Department of Education
